Registration is Open for Fall 2017 Boys Volleyball Season
by posted 07/13/2017

Registration is now open for the MVPower Boys Volleyball Fall 2017 season!  Last year, over 140 boys had a blast playing in the program.

Use the following link  to register.

The goal of MVPower Boys Volleyball is to provide boys with the opportunity to learn, play and enjoy the sport of volleyball in a relaxed, supportive and fun environment.  The program follows the same successful model used by MYA Volleyball and VYI Volleyball.  It encourages all those interested, regardless of experience/ability, to join and have a fun time with friends and classmates. If you don't already know how to play volleyball, we will teach you.

Here are the leagues available this season:

  • 5th-6th Grade – Elementary School League

  • 7th-8th Grade –  Middle School League

  • 9th-12th Grade – (High School boys can play volleyball this fall in the separate Northern Virginia High School Boys Volleyball League (NVHSBVL) with teams representing McLean HS, Langley HS, Madison HS, Marshall HS and other local schoolsContact Commissioner for details.)

MVPower teams play in the wider NoVA Boys Volleyball League which has teams from the following areas:

  • McLean/Vienna/Great Falls/Falls Church – MVPower Boys (MYA) Volleyball

  • Arlington – Arlington Youth Volleyball

  • Alexandria – Evolution Volleyball Club

  • Springfield/Berke/Fairfax – Braddock Road Volleyball

  • Chantilly – Chantilly Youth Volleyball

  • Fort Hunt – Fort Hunt Youth Volleyball

The MVPower commitment is student friendly and multi-sport friendly:

  • Two weeks of instructional clinics at the beginning of the season to develop or refresh core volleyball skills such as passing, setting, hitting and serving

  • 1 team practice per week (1.5 hrs) on a weekday in a Vienna or McLean gym

  • 1 league match per week (1 hr) on Saturdays against other boys teams

  • Practice days, times and locations are determined by coaches (a good reason to volunteer to coach) – during registration players can identify preferred days, times and locations

  • To support carpooling, teams are typically formed around friend-requests and school affiliations.

  • The program is open to all interested boys, not just those living in McLean and Vienna

MVPower Boys Volleyball is 100% volunteer and needs Volunteer Coaches.  Please consider coaching -- it is a great way to be part of your son’s exposure and positive experience with the sport.  Prior coaching and volleyball playing experience are a plus, but not required -- training, mentoring and supporting materials are provided by MVP Boys Volleyball.
