Welcome to McLean Youth (MYA) Volleyball (MYV).  Our mission is to provide student athletes the opportunity to learn, play and enjoy the sport of volleyball.  We run a spring season of girls and a fall season for boys.  It is open to McLean and non-McLean residents.

The spring 2017 season was a resounding success with over 650 athletes and 155 coaches.  Everyone deserves contratulations, especially those on the teams listed below.

MYV Wins HS Travel Championship


MYV's HST-11/12 Team Wins the Spring 2017 NOVA Travel League 

Congratulations to McLean Youth Volleyball High School Travel team HST-11/12 (Hannibal) for winning the championship of the Spring 2017 NOVA Traavel league.  It was a great team effort and everyone was on the top of their game throughout playoffs.  A special thanks to Coach Rich Hannibal for coaching his 8th season of HS Travel and 2nd Championship.

Consider Volleyball Camps this Summer

Volleyball Summer Camps and Clinics

MYV does not sponsor programs during the off-seasons.  However, several local schools and clubs run excellent volleyball camps and clinics during the summer and fall seasons.  Use the following links for more details (the names are in alphabetical order):

  • Langley High School - The week-long volleyball camp for 2017 is June 26-30 @9:00am-2:00pm at Cooper MS. Emphasis is on learning the basic skills and improving volleyball knowledge.  It is open to boys and girls ages 8-14.   • Madeira School - The 2017 dates are August 7-10 @9:00am-3:00pm at the Hurd Sports Center Gym.  It is open to rising 5th-9th grade girls and boys.  See the Madeira Volleyball Camp Flyer or email Coach Kelly Picardi at kpicardi@madeira.org for additional details.
  • McLean High School – Mike Alexander is the new varsity volleyball coach at McLean HS.  He will host a volleyball camp for girls and boys in grades 7th-10th on July 11-13 @6:30pm-8:30pm at McLean HS.  For more information and registration, visit www.HighlanderCamps.com or contact Mike at michaelealexander51@gmail.com
  • Mojo Volleyball Academy - This local volleyball club runs popular summer leagues, camps and clinics for 4th-12th graders. In 2017, Mojo has a summer youth league from June 6-Aug 6 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in McLean, camps during the weeks of July 10-16 @9am-3pm and July 17-21 @9am-3pm at Washington-Lee HS and skills-specific single day camps throughout the summer at Redeemer.  Visit the Mojo Academy website for more details.   • O'Connel High School - Coach Mehdi El Alaoui runs multple one-week sessions at Bishop O'Connel High School in Arlington for boys and girls ages 10-18 -- some camps are during the day and some in the evenings.  Visit the Virginia United VBC website for more details or contact Coach El Alaoui at melalaoui@bishopoconnell.org.
  • Vienna Elite Volleyball Club - This local volleyball club holds a full series of week-long summer clinics in the evenings for rising 5th & 6th graders (@6:30-7:30pm) and rising 7th & 8th grade girls (@7:30-9:00pm) graders at Hoops Plus in Sterling.  Visit the Vienna Elite website for additional details.
  • Virginia Elite Volleyball Club - This local volleyball club runs summer clinics for MS and HS players and a popular Fall Middle School program.  Most sessions take place at the Madeira School in McLean.  Visit the VA Elite website for additional details.

Several local universities also run excellent summer camps you should consider: American, George Mason, George Washington, Georgetown, Marymount and Navy

Record Breaking Used Sports Equipment Collection Drive

Way to go MYV/MYA Families!!

On Saturday, April 22, McLean Youth Volleyball (MYV) partnered with the non-profit Leveling the Playing Field to collect used ("slightly loved") sports equipment to donate to disadvantaged youth athletes in Baltimore and Washington DC.

Turnout was phenomenal.  It took 6 minivans loads (no middle seats) to collect the equipment from both Cooper MS and McLean HS.  In fact, Leveling the Playing Field informed us that it was their largest collection EVER!!

Congrats to MYV's Own Mike Markovic: FFX Champion of Charact


Congratulations to McLean Youth Volleyball's own Mike Markovic for winning the prestigious Fairfax County Champion of Character award on October 25, 2016 for his contribution to coaching youth volleyball and growing the boys volleyball game.
