Welcome to McLean Youth (MYA) Volleyball (MYV).  Our mission is to provide student athletes the opportunity to learn, play and enjoy the sport of volleyball.  We run a spring season of girls and a fall season for boys.  It is open to McLean and non-McLean residents.

Fall Boys Volleyball Has Record Turnout


Record Turnout for Boys Volleyball

The Fall 2017 season of the regional NoVA Boys Volleyball League has seen a record turnout.  There are 17 teams (6 ES and 11 MS) and over 160 boys playing in the program from the following youth sports organizations:

  • McLean/Vienna/Great Falls/Falls Church – MVPower Boys (MYA) Volleyball (3 ES, 5 MS Teams)
  • Arlington – Arlington Youth Volleyball (1 ES, 2 MS teams)
  • Springfield/Berke/Fairfax – Braddock Road Volleyball (1 ES, 2 MS teams)
  • Chantilly – Chantilly Youth Volleyball (1 ES, 2 MS teams)

The Fall season runs from September 11 through playoffs on November 11.

MYV Wins HS Travel Championship


 

MYV's HST-11/12 Team Wins the Spring 2017 NOVA Travel League 

Congratulations to McLean Youth Volleyball High School Travel team HST-11/12 (Hannibal) for winning the championship of the Spring 2017 NOVA Traavel league.  It was a great team effort and everyone was on the top of their game throughout playoffs.  A special thanks to Coach Rich Hannibal for coaching his 8th season of HS Travel and 2nd Championship.

Record Breaking Used Sports Equipment Collection Drive


Way to go MYV/MYA Families!!

On Saturday, April 22, McLean Youth Volleyball (MYV) partnered with the non-profit Leveling the Playing Field to collect used ("slightly loved") sports equipment to donate to disadvantaged youth athletes in Baltimore and Washington DC.

Turnout was phenomenal.  It took 6 minivans loads (no middle seats) to collect the equipment from both Cooper MS and McLean HS.  In fact, Leveling the Playing Field informed us that it was their largest collection EVER!!
